Services at the GC-NAT

As coordinators and members of the Dean’s office and the Graduate Center of Natural Sciences, we take our responsibility for our doctoral candidates seriously. We hope you will feel comfortable contacting us if you face problems, questions, or difficult decisions. We might not have authority or influence in all matters, but we are here to advise you and might be able to help or refer you to people in charge or mediate wherever possible.

You may also contact the Representatives of the Doctoral Candidates if you prefer.

Annual performance review (“Jahresgespräch”)

On occasion of the feedback session, you and your supervisor may also conduct the annual performance review (“Jahresgespräch”), which is highly recommended to any employee. The yearly performance review is a confidentially conducted reflection and orientation meeting, ensuring privacy and respect. It’s to collaborate and agree on common goals for future tasks. It is not an informal chat, but it should be focused and apply high communication skills.
