Application and Admission for the Bachelor's Program in Chemical Engineering

• Application period for the winter semester: May 15 to July 15
• Eligibility assessment process: In this process, the high school graduation grade and subject-specific individual grades are evaluated using a points system. Which grades are considered and how they are weighted depends on the chosen program. The formula is specified in the program's regulations. Depending on the program and the number of points achieved, applicants are either directly admitted or invited to an interview by the School. This interview aims to determine whether the applicants are expected to successfully complete the planned course of study. There is no written test. In some programs, applicants below a certain points threshold can also be rejected without an interview.
• The purpose of the procedure is to determine whether, in addition to the qualification demonstrated by obtaining the university entrance qualification, the applicant has the aptitude for the special qualitative requirements of the Bachelor's program in Chemical Engineering. For this program, the following aptitude requirements must be met in addition to the university entrance qualification (HZB):

Program-specific competencies:

• The ability to recognize, logically present, and classify chemical and engineering-related issues in everyday life, nature, and technology;
• The ability to systematically and quantitatively address such issues using mathematical methods;
• A good understanding of abstract, logical, and system-oriented issues, e.g., demonstrated by above-average competencies in mathematics and/or relevant extracurricular activities.
