Application and Admission for the Bachelor's Program in Biochemistry

The Bachelor's program in Biochemistry at TUM can only be started in the winter semester and is subject to a two-stage aptitude assessment procedure (EfV). Applications for the summer semester are only possible for lateral entrants to higher semesters with a relevant previous course of study and creditable achievements amounting to at least 22 CP per semester.

In Stage 1 of the EfV, the submitted application documents are evaluated and scored according to predetermined criteria. Applicants deemed suitable will be invited to a personal selection interview on-site (in person) in Stage 2 of the EfV. The outcome of the interview determines admission or rejection. - Invitations to the selection interview will be sent by email to the email address provided in the application at least one week before the interview date. We assume that seriously interested applicants will be available for a selection interview during the specified period and regularly check their email inbox.

Application Phase for Bachelor's Studies (Winter Semester Start): from May 15 to July 15 Application Phase (lateral entrants to summer semester only): from November 15 to January 15

Application Procedure

TUM practices a paperless application process. This means that your suitability for the Biochemistry program will be determined based on digital documents, and only in case of admission will paper documents need to be submitted for proper enrollment.

  1. Create an application account at www.campus.tum.de and submit your application(s). A application assistant will guide you through the application process step by step. Read all application instructions carefully and follow them.
  2. Upload all relevant admission documents to your application (preferably as PDF or JPG, no TIF files). You can save the current status of your application and edit it at a later time as long as the application has not been submitted. Once you are sure everything is complete and correct, submit your digital application.
  3. It is important to note: Only complete, formal, and timely applications will be processed!

Additional regulations apply to applicants with special forms of university entrance qualification, applicants for higher semesters, international applicants with languages other than German as their mother tongue, or applicants with foreign educational qualifications.
