Module Offer of the M.Sc. Quantum Science & Technology

The Master's students on the interdisciplinary Quantum Science & Technology Master's degree program follow mandatory and elective modules. The structure of the degree program is presented on the page Curriculum.

Mandatory Modules of the M.Sc. Quantum Science & Technology

One of the two mandatory modules worth 10 credit points (CP) must be passed by the end of the second semester. One of the two mandatory modules is offered at the LMU, the other one at the TUM.

Elective Modules in the Focus Areas of the QST

For the QST Master’s program you have to earn 30 CP (ECTS) in the focus areas. You may choose freely over all focus areas. A maximum of one module from the QST Special Topics catalog can be included in the curriculum. The focus area modules together account for 37.5% of the final grade. If you overfulfill the area, for example by taking two 10 CP modules, one 9 CP module and one 5 CP module, the area is also included in the final grade with a weighting of 37.5%.

To ensure a broad coverage of topics a consultation by a mentor is required (documented by signature on the mentoring form). Further information on this can be found on the following website Mentors' meeting QST.

Attention! Difficulties with the display of the LMU elective modules.

At the moment the LMU modules of the QST program cannot be displayed correctly. You can find the entries in the LSF of LMU.

The modules in the focus areas are updated by the examination board before the beginning of an academic year.
