BSc Lectures for Exchange Students in Physics
Modules from our Bachelor program are typically taught in German and exchange students are required to have sufficient German language skills to visit these courses. Exchange students in physics need to choose at least 60% of their workload out of our module handbooks.
Please consider that TUM courses are normally published late in July for the winter semester and at the beginning of February for the summer semester. The TUM application deadline for exchange programs is prior to these publication dates, so you have to draft your preliminary study program based on the offer of the previous academic year. Although this offer is normally a reliable indicator of next year's offerings, you should prepare some substitute courses in case some courses are finally not offered.
You can have a look at the German-taught modules directly on the page of the study program:
- Bachelor basic studies (first and second year)
- Bachelor specialization (third year)
English-taught Bachelor modules
Although the official teaching language of our Bachelor program is German, there are few additional modules that are offered in English:
- NAT9001 Essentials in Experimental Physics 1 (Mechanics)
- PH8112 Essentials in Experimental Physics 2 (Electromagnetism)
- PH8114 Essentials in Experimental Physics 3 (Optics and Quantum Physics)
- PH8115 Essentials in Experimental Physics 4 (Astrophysics)
- PH8016 Introduction to Nuclear, Particle, and Astrophysics
- PH8019 Introduction to Condensed Matter Physics
Registration for courses can be done when the corresponding semester begins. For more details on the different kinds of course registration (for lectures, exercises, student seminars and lab courses), please have a look at our page on course registration. Please consider that course and exam registration are independent from each other. To participate in the examination of a module, exam registration is mandatory in all cases.
